Junior Systems Administrator
The Junior IT Systems Administrator will assist with internal and external IT projects as assigned. This role will primarily be responsible for continued documentation and monitoring of IT systems including business processes. The Junior IT Systems Administrator will assist with managing AD accounts, Group Policy, troubleshooting and repairing production systems as needed.
- Analyzing and figuring out the system needs of an organization
- Installing hardware and software for the network
- Keeping systems operating efficiently by performing any necessary upgrades and repairs
- Planning a strategy to maintain system security on the computers and the network as a whole
- Optimizing and evaluating the system regularly
- Training or directing users on the correct use of software and hardware within the system
- Performing problem-solving tasks when alerted by a user or monitoring system
- Negotiating contract renewals for network applications and services
- Administration of user accounts on various platforms
- Preparing laptops and virtual systems for employees
- Configure and deploy laptops and workstations for end users
- Set up and manage local AD accounts, Office 365 accounts and Group Policy
- Continuously manage and monitor computing and networking resources for private and public cloud environments.
- Assist with troubleshooting issues and outages on network and production systems
- Maintain an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT procedures.
- Monitor and troubleshoot servers and end user machines as needed
- Assist with upgrading IT systems with new releases and security patches and antivirus software
- Assist with IT infrastructure and systems projects
Familiarity with the following applications and concepts
- VMWare ESXi & VCenter
- Office365 administration
- Basic networking protocols layers 1-7
- Switches, routers, vpn, lan, wan configuration and maintenance
- Cloud computing concepts and administration
- Software version control

Requirements:
- 2 + years in an IT Support / System Support role
- 2 + years overseeing low complexity projects and implementations
- Experience with documenting IT/Business processes
- Responds in a timely manner to end user’s needs and concerns
- Ability to work both independently and as a team on projects
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of networking principals including firewalls, vlan’s and basic routing protocols
- Familiarity with Microsoft and Unix operating systems and commands
- Familiarity of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio & SharePoint)
- Primary hours will be 9am to 6pm Monday thru Friday
